Abbie Dagg

Graduate story

Staffordshire graduate Abbie Dagg says her experiences during her MSc in Clinical Podiatric Biomechanics have given her confidence in her own abilities as a health practitioner.

“I chose Staffordshire University and the MSc in Clinical Biomechanics in particular as it offers the best course in Podiatric Biomechanics led by some of the best lecturers in their field who have mountains of knowledge that they are happy to share,” says Abbie. “The MSc has provided a good grounding for my role and job providing me with skills and a sound knowledge base that I did not have prior to the Masters.”

Peer recognition

Since graduating from Staffordshire University, Abbie, a Clinical Podiatric Lead in Rheumatology, has had two peer review papers published in The Journal of Wound Care and one additional paper in Wounds UK.

For Abbie, it is this recognition from her peers, in addition to invitations to present her work at professional conferences that she is most proud of.

But, she also says that she will never forget how she felt at her graduation ceremony at Trentham Gardens.

Looking to the future

Abbie added: “Being the first to walk out of the tent and being greeted by a row of lectures who were all clapping and cheering, it was an absolutely fabulous way to finish a rather fantastic Master’s degree. It is one that I have very much enjoyed and missed since finishing.

“Studying at Staffordshire has given me the confidence to trust in my knowledge and abilities as a practitioner.”

Abbie is now focussed on her development in the field of ‘off-loading pressure in at-risk foot’ and hopes to return to embark on a PhD.
