Animation and visual effects have become an integral part of the entertainment industry, spanning across film, television, games, and advertising.

The UK is home to a highly regarded visual effects industry, and with our Visual Effects and Virtual Production degree, students can gain the creative and technical skills required to produce awe-inspiring visual effects. This course combines visual effects, 3D modelling, animation, virtual production, and digital technology to teach students how to create Hollywood blockbuster-quality results.

Additionally, our Animation degree focuses on developing character animation skills, utilising 2D, 3D, Stop Motion, and Games Animation techniques. Both courses prepare students for an exciting career in the visual effects and animation industry with a focus on employability and the development of a professional showreel and portfolio in-line with current industry needs and expectations.

Alongside all the degrees within Media, Performance and Communication, our Animation and Visual Effects courses prepare students for creative careers through storytelling, sense-making, and collaboration.  Our students develop the confidence to work across different areas by the end of their studies, having worked on diverse projects across various creative disciplines.  They have developed their storytelling abilities, addressed global issues, and are prepared for careers in the thriving creative industries.
