Transparency return

As a Catalyst for Change, University of Staffordshire regularly reviews its performance in relation to access, continuation, completion, good degree attainment and graduate outcomes to ensure equality of opportunity.

University of Staffordshire uses evidence-based approaches to support equality of opportunity. Our whole institution approach is supported by our cross-institutional access and participation steering board which ensures effective working.

Our priorities include:

  • increasing access to higher education for students from specific Black, Asian and minority ethnic backgrounds
  • increasing access to higher education for care leavers
  • increasing access to higher education for students from low socio-economic backgrounds
  • reducing the awarding gap for students from low socio-economic and low participation backgrounds
  • reducing the awarding gap between Black and white students
  • reducing the awarding gap between mature and young students

A full list of our priorities, enabling actions and targeted interventions can be found in our access and participation plan.
