As a response to the needs of employers, we have invested in dedicated facilities to help your business grow. Our Innovation Enterprise Zone has specialist laboratories in advanced manufacturing, advanced materials, as well as digital suites and scientific laboratories - some of which can be accessed remotely.

Our dedicated innovation labs and workshops include equipment such as 3D metal printers, robotic arms, laser cutter, Virtual Reality suites and more, all to benefit your business needs.

The Advanced Materials Lab is part of a suit of facilities that businesses, students and graduates can access through the Innovation Enterprise Zone.

Product Development Lab

The Product Development Lab is one of the resources offered to businesses and students through our Innovation Enterprise Zone.

3D Factory - 3D Print Room

The 3D Print Room is one of two facilities available from within the 3D Factory, enabling students to print objects of varying size, complexity and material.

3D Factory - Laser cutting

The laser cutting room is one of two facilities available from within the 3D Factory, facilitating creative engravings across a range of materials.

Maker Space

The Maker Space is an open access area where students can come to test, learn or experiment with a variety of hand tools.

Immersive Technology

This collection of rooms and resources allows for exploration and development with Virtual and Augmented Reality technologies.

Visualisation and Simulation Studio

This multi-purpose space facilitates training, research and academic practice related to object digitisation, through the use of laser scanners and close range photogrammetry.

Flaxman Radio Studios

Professionally equipped broadcast radio studios.

Cadman Television Studio

Professional three-camera television studio, complete with separate audio and visual gallery spaces. Studio floor includes tiered seating to accommodate an audience of 60 people.

Alongside our state-of-the-art facilities, we can also provide business support in the form of: Research partnerships; partnerships and networks; training and development; continued professional development; short courses; film and theatre sets, promotional filming spaces; focus groups and product photography

We have state of the art Healthcare facilities located at our Centre for Health Innovation, as well as at the Stoke campus where our Psychology, Science and Sports facilities can be found.

Clinical Simulation Suites (Stoke Site)

The Simulation Suites enable delivery of all simulation-based education and practical clinical skills training, in support of nursing courses.

Midwifery Skills Lab

The Midwifery Lab enables delivery of all simulation-based education and practical clinical skills in support of the University's midwifery course.

Operating Department Practitioner Skills Lab

The Operating Department Practitioner Skills Lab is a facility focused on providing ODP practical skills associated within surgical environments.

Psychology Simulation Facilities

Simulation equipment is available throughout the psychology laboratory areas and available as stand-alone resources for facilitating research and teaching applications.

Paramedic Skills Labs

The Paramedic Science Skills Labs are large spaces containing the resources required to learn and practice all of the clinical skills associated with Paramedic practice.

Clinical Skills Labs

The Skills Labs enable delivery of all practical-led simulation and clinical skills in support of Nursing (Adult, Child, MH), Paramedic Science, ODP, Midwifery and Allied Health.

Student Training Unit and Extrication Training Vehicles

The Student Training Unit and Extrication Vehicle are used to demonstrate specialist activities associated primarily within Paramedic Science wards
