Specialist facilities

Featuring the latest tools and tech, Stafford’s immersive and clinical simulation suites provide practical and personalised real-world learning experiences that will inspire and energise you. Augmented and virtual reality technologies, complemented with high-quality realistic mannequins, enable you to safely practise clinical skills. The life-like spaces in our simulation-based settings include a hospital ward, operating theatre and emergency department. We also have a fully equipped paramedic training ambulance, which is also used as part of the External Simmersion Area.

Learning & collaboration spaces

Library and learning facilities on our Stafford Campus offer all the support you need. Our specialist healthcare library and integrated computer lab offers space for quiet, reflective and group study. Open seven days a week from 6am, it stays open until midnight on weekdays and 10pm at weekends.

The Centre also has a range of social spaces in which you can meet friends, relax and reset. There is a restaurant and coffee bar on the ground floor and social spaces, both in the Atrium and on the first floor.

Eat & drink

You can eat and drink at Dudley's, our family friendly restaurant, from 8am-4pm every week day. Choose from a full breakfast range from 8am-11am and daily lunch specials catering for all food preferences from 11:30am-2:00pm. 

Our coffee shop serves speciality coffee and a range of sandwiches, toasties, and paninis. Students can take advantage of our hot drink loyalty scheme.

Students' Union clubs & societies

Many of the wide range of sports and creative clubs, religious, cultural and academic societies run out of Stoke but Stafford hosts health-focused societies like Midwifery and Nursing. Representative networks for Disabled, International or LGBTQ+ students also operate across sites.

Sport

Next to campus, Beaconside Sports and Fitness offers discounted student membership. It features a state-of-the-art gym, top-class football and multi-sports facilities, and well-equipped group exercise studios. You can also take up competitive and social sport using our extensive Stoke Campus sports facilities.

 

The local area

Stafford offers a good choice of eateries, with restaurants, coffee shops, bistros and bars, and plenty of shops, from major high street retailers to small boutiques. A range of entertainment venues include the Gatehouse Theatre and Stafford Octagaon, which is based in our old campus building.
