Facilities and expertise in Sport and Exercise

Undergraduate

Enjoy the specialist equipment, facilities and expertise to launch your future career, and help us champion the benefits of sport and exercise across all communities.

Ongoing investment in our sport and exercise facilities and resources – for training, coaching, therapy, education, and recreation – ensures we reflect the dynamic world of sport, fitness and physical education.

Using the same – sometimes next level – industry-grade equipment and activities expected by your profession, you will develop the essential skills and knowledge to analyse and advise on distinct aspects of physical performance. Our pioneering Telehealth Hub, for instance, responds to the uptake of web-based, remote healthcare. It will allow students to assess, educate, monitor, and/or deliver sport and healthcare interventions virtually.

In our specialist labs and student-run sports therapy clinic, you will put into practice the theory, techniques and tests you learn about. The Rehabilitation Zone is equipped with Olympic weightlifting equipment and cardiovascular machines, while the Sir Stanley Matthews Sports Centre offers a sports hall, gym, 3G pitches and AstroTurf.

The facilities for sports therapy are amazing. I work within the student run Sports Therapy Clinic and am enjoying every minute which I spend working in there and developing my knowledge and experience with external clients. It definitely makes me look forward to graduating and developing a career as a sports therapist.

The lecturers have always been there if I needed to ask a question, and the support is second to none. They have made my university experience so much more than I could have imagined and have also given me the confidence in myself that I can achieve my dream.
