Student Content Creators

Students say it better. That's why we're expanding University of Staffordshire's team of student content creators to make an impact by sharing their university experience.

You'll be an important part of Marketing and Communications, providing you with the opportunity of real-world work experience. You will work collaboratively; contribute to campaigns; and create student-led content - that will feature on University of Staffordshire's corporate social media channels, reaching over 250k followers.

Your content will help to support students throughout their university journey.

You’ll become a part of a talented, inclusive, and supportive team who encourage you to be you.

About the role

What will I be doing?

The role is varied and flexible. It allows you to prioritise your studies and get paid for documenting your university experience along the way.

From creating TikTok's of your 9 'to 5, documenting student milestones for YouTube, to hosting the Student Connect podcast. The role evolves to suit your needs, audience interest and channel trends.

You will have the opportunity to capture things to do near to and on-campus or presenting at corporate events to excite generations of students to come, whilst also having the opportunity to express your interest and grow your skill set.

What skills do I need?

Most importantly, we want you to want to share your story. The experiences you have collected in your time at university will resonate with others and help them in their journey too.

You will have impactful social media accounts, be comfortable in front of the camera and an interest in marketing and communications. It would also be great to see any content you’ve created before – showcasing your confidence with social media and editing apps.

How do I get paid?

You will work closely with the Social Media Manager to produce planned and proactive multimedia content. We want you to stay ahead of the curve and create based on trends, but also look to produce meaningful storytelling that shares what it is to be a student at University of Staffordshire.

Assignments will be listed and agreed, delivered, and then you'll get paid for what you produce.

Occasional weekend or evening working may be requested to attend Open Days and other on-campus events to capture content for social media.

  • Vlog content for YouTube and campaigns

We hold Content Creator Workshops twice a year, in March and October.

Selection process

Once you’ve completed your Content Creator Workshop, your contribution and application will be reviewed.
