Outline
- We use stories every day.
- Stories are created, told and analysed
- We make sense of the world around us through the stories we tell.
In this dynamic and interactive workshop, we look at storytelling across mediums. We will explore practically:
- how did human beings begin telling stories? By trying out some easy and accessible oral storytelling ideas, we can begin to get a sense of why we tell and how we use stories.
- why Hollywood teaches scriptwriting still using ancient Greek theatre story structures.
- how, regardless of whether a short film, a feature, a 6-part Netflix series or a contemporary theatre piece, why the same building blocks of storytelling are used. These are the same principles that make up how we even Tweet!
- how some stories have made us want to change the world around us.
