Vietnam ambassador visits Staffordshire University London

Staffordshire University London campus was visited this week by Vietnam’s Ambassador to the UK and partners from British University Vietnam.

Ambassador Long and visitors from BUV were given a tour of Staffordshire University London

This was an opportunity to share with them Staffordshire University’s excellent provision in the UK’s capital city. We are delighted to cement our long-standing partnership with both BUV and Vietnam, in a year that marks 50 years of diplomatic ties between Vietnam and the UK.

The visit was hosted by Staffordshire University Deputy Vice-Chancellor Kevin Hetherington alongside School representatives and colleagues from the International Recruitment and Development department.

The Ambassador, His Excellency Mr Nguyen Hoang Long, Vice-Chancellor and President of British University Vietnam (BUV), Professor Ray Gordon, and Chief Academic Officer, Chris Jeffery, took a tour of the University’s newest campus which is dedicated to training students for the technology jobs of the future.

Ambassador Long also had the opportunity to meet with five BUV students who are currently are on a study exchange to Staffordshire University, as part of the partnership.

Professor Hetherington said: “It was an honour and a privilege to host His Excellency and to have our partners visit our world class facilities, based in the largest technological hub in London.

“Just last month our Vice-Chancellor, Professor Martin Jones, visited British University Vietnam to see first-hand the next generation education that is being delivered and to discuss expanding our partnership.”
