Cut The Mustard Digital

Cut The Mustard Digital rents a private office space at the Incubator, benefiting from high-quality space, meeting rooms and business network.

Company Overview

Cut The Mustard Digital is one of the leading digital consultancies in Stoke-on-Trent and has doubled in size since locating at the Staffordshire University Innovation Enterprise Zone Incubator.

The company helps businesses to understand how to use technology more effectively which results in a happier and more efficient team, as they get a better understanding of what is expected of them. That means less time managing and more time looking at growing your business.

They believe that while transformation could be seen as an expense, the right kind of transformation is actually an investment in the future of your business.

Funded Business Support

By being a tenant of our university's Incubator, Cut The Mustard Digital has benefitted from a variety of Staffordshire University business services to support the growth and success of their business, including:

  • Accessing a range of short training courses for their staff members at no cost to the business. This enabled the company to continue to be cutting edge and to offer its clients exceptional services. As a tenant, they were given access to our continuous professional development (CPD) and online coaching platform via Tricordant.
  • Hiring two permanent graduate positions with the support of our specialist student and graduate recruitment agency, Unitemps. Unitemps supported the recruitment process from end to end. This involved meeting with the business to understand their requirements, advertising the vacancy, shortlisting candidates, job offering and everything in between.
  • Accessing specialist university facilities, such as our Creative Lab for client meetings at no additional cost.

Project Outcomes

Since becoming a tenant, the company has doubled its workforce and increased its client base. Having access to university talent was a key reason that the company accessed the university's Incubator, and this is already paying off.

Managing Director, Ajay Kapadia, has grown his relationship with the University since his tenancy. He was contracted by the University to be an Innovation adviser, advising local SMEs on Digital transformation projects - this is linked to one of the funded innovation projects.

Being in an Innovative space in the Incubator has sparked creativity and has meant that we have been more easily able to fill vacancies that we would have struggled with. These have been from current and former students - but the central location will also attract developers from elsewhere. A further benefit is the signposting of training courses for our team that we otherwise wouldn't have found.
