Example programme

10.00 – Welcome & Overview, Careers in Networking

10.15 – Masterclass 1. Discussion on the importance of networking and an understanding how hardware has changed over time.  During this session we will have a demonstration of Stackwise switching technology.  This allows for a single piece of hardware to be configured and the instructions passed to a number of other devices. As a part of this we can show the results of a device failing and how the hardware reacts to this to ensure the end users are unaware of this.

12:00 – Lunch (Staff and Students to bring own lunch)

12.30 – Masterclass 2. In this session we can demonstrate using security on Cisco equipment.  The students will be able to see communications without security and get them to consider the impact of this in their own homes and commercially. We will then have the follow on session where the students will change the technology which is being used so that it is now secure and protected.

14.15 – Feedback and Departure

Programme Options:

An off campus version is available in which Masterclass 2 will involve a discussion and demonstration on the importance of wireless technology.  During this session we will demonstrate commercial grade wireless networking products and show the monitoring tools which are now available so that we can see the performance of the devices.  In addition we can show how easy it is to control wireless technology now from the Cloud.
