Tina Spittle

Senior Lecturer

Health, Education, Policing and Sciences

I have been a lecturer in Paramedic science since 2019 with a background working as a paramedic and mentor for the emergency services spanning 20 years.

I started my career in the NHS straight after obtaining my first degree working in my local operating theatre department specialising in obstetrics and gynaecology.  I decided to move into outpatients and spent time in the rheumatology department conducting DEXA bone density scans for patients who were at risk of osteoporosis, but quickly realised my passion was to help others within the pre-hospital setting after experiencing first-hand the fantastic work they do.  For this reason, I applied for the ambulance service as a Technician.  I was given the opportunity to develop my knowledge and skills when qualified as a paramedic in 2008.  Since then I have undertaken various roles within the ambulance service including mentorship and hospital liaison but felt that I wanted to help students attain their full potential by helping them on their own academic journey.
