As a lecturer in Paramedic Science and a Background in Paramedic Practice for the past 20 years, I have a keen interest in the development of the profession.
I have worked for a regional ambulance service in a variety of roles which involved attending to Emergency calls as both a solo responder and a crew.
As my Career progressed with the ambulance service I worked as a Mentor for students and later as an operational Manager where I was responsible for on scene command and control at larger scale incidents, multiple casualty incidents and Liaison with other emergency services.
I left the ambulance service to develop my clinical experience and worked as an Advanced Clinical Practitioner in and Emergency Department of a City Hospital, this has fuelled my interest for enlightening students to look at the roles that may be able to then in the wider health service as the profession progresses.
