Sarah gained QTS in 1996 and worked as a primary teacher for 15 years before moving into Initial Teacher Training, Sarah has enjoyed a varied career in Primary Education and worked as a teacher across all year groups in EYFS, KS1 and KS2, in a variety of schools and within Senior Management Teams. Sarah played a key role in developing clusters in the Cheshire East LEA which prepared her well for setting up and managing School Direct clusters in her present role.
From 2011-2013 she led the Foundation Subjects Team at Edge Hill University and continues to lead Foundation Subjects modules at Staffordshire University.
Sarah designed and led the PGCE at Staffordshire University for ten years and has recently joined the Undergraduate team where she leads on the foundation subjects, inclusion and contemporary issues modules. She also enjoys being part of the EdD (Doctorate in Education) and PhD Teams.
Her arts-based doctorate explored the experiences of working mothers and maternal guilt, piloting innovative and inclusive research methods culminating in an exhibition at the Tate Modern in Liverpool and a guest research opportunity at Concordia University in Montreal.
