Digital, Tech, Innovation & Business

I’m a Lecturer and Industry Professional, with a coaching background in multiple areas relating to League of Legends and esports. I’m currently a coach for multiple teams globally and I’m involved in projects such as academies, bootcamps and other things to help the esports industry grow and progress.

My interest for this industry started as a RuneScape player, though not directly correlated to esports yet this game sparked my interest in game design which would ultimately lead me to get my computer science degree. Along the way I realised what I loved about the gaming industry, it wasn’t creating the games it was participating in them and educating others how to create a career in such an amazing industry.

In college, I played Call of Duty to a high level but would then progress on to League of Legends full time. Starting as a player and getting to experience travelling around playing competitive League of Legends I instantly knew the potential this industry had after meeting so many amazing people on my journey. I then turned my League of Legends coaching hobby into a full time career and this allowed me to experience so many different areas of the industry and really understand what makes it tick and how collaboratively we can all create something amazing.

In 2021 I started in the esports education space, launching the first esports qualification at HSDC College in Alton and South Downs as their course leader. During this time creating not only a successful course but important industry links with leaders in the industry such as Corsair and Fnatic whilst creating safe environments for competition for all at the college such as the BEF Student Championships participation. This gave me the experience needed to progress to becoming a Lecturer here at Staffs in 2023.
