Apprenticeship & Ilr Officer

Business Engagement

Prior to joining the university in 2019, I worked in the utilities sector for 8 years in a role supporting staff development internally; I then moved into telecomms briefly in recruitment before joining the Social Housing sector supporting a varying client base with self-development and employment.

I worked alongside the new IoP Recruitment Development Team to map out an onboarding process at the same time as constantly having new learners being sent by the four forces to be checked for eligibility. I looked after the compliance and system sides of onboarding while also working with the team to ensure the user experience was positive. This grew to cover compliance of on-programme changes; breaks, withdrawals, returns, completions, reviews, Off The Job, programme structure changes, etc.

I now support Kay Woolrich with this and I focus on the monthly ILR return to the ESFA which is a record each individual apprentice has and has to be updated with any and every change, and accurately, to ensure we get the funding we deserve. I also check to make sure when we have a completer that we have received all funding due for them.

I don’t really have many hobbies! I like walking and spending time with my dog (7 month old lab x springer), I do like reading and also spending time at my mum’s caravan in Wales (also like playing on my Nintendo Switch but not sure if I should admit to that!).
