Prior to coming to Staffordshire University, I had almost ten years teaching experience at Nottingham Trent University. My teaching has generally focused on family law and I write and update an undergraduate text-book. Whilst at Nottingham Trent I completed my PhD which was a comparative study of mandatory reporting in English and French criminal law. This involved qualitative research in both England and France.

Following my PhD I continue to be interested in comparative law and at the moment I am researching French laws of anonymous birth and issues related to rights to identity and concepts of the family.
I am also interested in the constructive trust and ownership of the family home.

I am interested in developing partnerships with external stakeholders to further grow the employability of the law school graduate and to develop focused post graduate training opportunities.
