I am a lecturer within the Institute of Policing with a background in archaeology and sociology. I studied these areas a Leicester University before I went on to join the police. It was here that I furthered my academic and specialist areas in disaster victim identification.
I served with Leicestershire Police and the College of Polcing where I specialised in areas including disaster management, disaster victim identification..
Attending Dundee University, I studied Disaster Victim Identification under the expert eye of Professor Sue Black and her team.
My studies saw me involved in numerous high-profile cases in either an operational or advisory capacity. I went on to serve as a subject matter expert within the College of Policing.
Having spent time as a professional standards investigator, my areas of specialism extend into use of force, public order public safety and organisational learning through structured debriefing.
Research interests
I have a keen interest in organisational learning, interoperability, major incident management, police evolution in to the 21st century, police welfare and wellbeing, and command and control.
