I’m a technical Instructor with a background of documentary filmmaking and sound design. Before Becoming an alumni of Staffordshire University (Media production) I worked as a professional sous chef while juggling a part time job at BBC Derby as a production assistant – Here I quickly developed a passion for Audio/visual Media.
During my Time studying at Staffordshire university, I went on to Direct, Produce and shoot several award-winning Short films which are still being shown at film festivals circuits. After Graduating University, I worked freelance for numerous company’s around Manchester, Stoke and Nottingham as a camera assistant and Sound recordist.
In 2011 I was offered a job at Staffordshire University in the media centre as a technical assistant. In this role I continued to developed my skills in media, keeping up to date with latest cinema and camera technology along with gaining a passion for teaching. I am now fortunate enough to teach students on how to use technical resources in my current role as a technical instructor.
During my spare time I do voluntary work for the National Citizen Services (NCS)
Working with underprivileged/ low income 15-17 year olds to devolve their skills in media technologies (Photography and video) and then use those skills to create content for local charities - often making videos to raise awareness of or fundraise for a particular cause.
