Linda Szekely

Senior Lecturer

Health, Education, Policing and Sciences

As a child, I was privileged to have had the opportunity to travel and live in several countries around the world. I feel that this has allowed me to be extremely receptive to different cultures and experiences. These experiences drove me to want to learn more about human behaviour, and work closely with individuals.

After completing my MSc in Counselling Psychology, I spent many years working as a Psychotherapist within the Looked After System, gaining experience of working with both adults and children directly and indirectly, including providing training and individual therapy. I found my passion of working with children and supporting the relevant adults with understanding the needs of children with difficult backgrounds.

This led me to deliver training programs to professionals and introduce me to the world of education. I am currently completing my PgCHPE in Higher Education, which I feel will give me further support in delivering my teaching programs. I am also a BACP Registered Counsellor, providing individual private sessions to both adults and children.
