I have always had such enthusiasm for teaching, mentoring, and supporting students in clinical practice, which is what led me into this role. I have experience working in a general hospital and a Children’s Hospital, caring for children with varied medical conditions. Specialties such as: Respiratory, Cystic Fibrosis, Cardiology, Rheumatology, Metabolic, Endocrine and Immunology. Also having experience working in areas such as CAU. I continue to do clinical bank shifts, alongside my Lecturer post, to keep up to date with practice.

  • I have always had an interest in research and evidence-base practice and feel passionate about implementing this with student nurses, to enable them to become confident, competent practitioners.

  • Registered Children’s Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Council.
  • Member of The Royal College of Nursing (RCN). 

Academic qualifications

  • BSc (Hons) Children’s Nursing, Keele University.
  • I will be studying the Academic Professional Apprenticeship (APA) at Staffordshire University
