As a Work Based Education Officer within the Institute of Policing, I undertake learning reviews with students enrolled on the PCDA as well as undertaking a range of activities to secure evidence to meet the apprenticeship and work-based education standards of the PCDA.
I began my career within the education sector as a Special Needs Practitioner before securing a place on the Stoke on Trent Graduate Teacher Programme (GTP) where I qualified as a Primary School teacher. I enjoyed many years in the classroom, teaching a range of ages before moving on to teach within Further and Higher Education at Stoke on Trent College. It is here where I built upon previous teaching experience and first began to work with adults in vocational settings. I enjoyed teaching within these settings as well as embarking on the role of an assessor within the workplace, enhancing my knowledge of vocational training, and leading to my role as a Work Based Education Officer within the Institute of Policing.
