Gary Lowe

Visiting Fellow

Health, Science and Wellbeing

Having graduated in Physical Education in 1980 I made the career decision to enter local authority community sport provision, where I gained several years of sport facility management experience. I then returned to teaching as a lecturer in physical education within an FE college where I spent ten happy years delivering a wide range of awards including BTEC National Diploma in Sport Studies and Leisure Management, GNVQ Leisure and Tourism, A Level Physical Education and HND Heritage Tourism, in addition to gaining an MEd in Physical Education. Armed with this higher degree and a desire to improve the education of graduates entering the industry I took my current post as Senior Lecturer at Staffordshire University in 1995.

Alongside this professional career development I have always held an affinity with the local community and held posts such as a school Vice Chair of Governors, Commodore and Chief Instructor of a Sailing Club and Trustee of a Local Charity who deliver sailing opportunities to people living with a disability.
