Farrah Barber

Mentor, Founder at Uniformed

Justice, Security and Sustainability

I'm Farrah, originally from Stoke and now living in London, and have studied/lived abroad in Germany and Singapore.

I was a first-gen university student that won bursaries and awards to study at the University of St Andrews and Oxford, and read a range of subjects including International Relations, Economics, Russian, and Computational Social Science.

Since then, I've founded and run a charity that provides school uniforms to disadvantaged families, and am volunteering for the Business in the Community network to support economic regeneration in the North.

Professionally, I begun my career as a software engineering intern at Goldman Sachs, Internet and Technology Governance intern at the UN, and was a consultant at McKinsey & Company (specialising in Private Equity). Before beginning my professional career, I'd done a range of internships at academic think tanks (covering economics to global constitutionalism), and political risk organisations. I'm now founding my own biofuels production company that aims to unlock third-generation biofuels through Entrepreneurs First, a high-growth tech incubator.

In my spare time, I love to go to the gym, and am writing a book about understanding the schism between love and compromise.
