Emma Clayson

Senior Lecturer

Health, Education, Policing and Sciences

I qualified as a teacher in 2004 and have taught across the primary age range in mainstream schools and special schools. I qualified as a special educational needs coordinator (SENCO) in 2012 and worked as a primary school SENCO and Inclusion manager before taking up a position as a special educational needs consultant. This role developed into leading the school improvement and governor services provision across Staffordshire. After 5 years in a consultancy role, I joined Staffordshire university as a senior lecturer and lead the inclusion and special educational needs input across the primary ITT programmes.

I have a further interest in the use of technology in education and achieve Microsoft Innovative Educator Expert status in 2021 and continue to use this expertise to support both staff and students.
