I obtained my PhD in Chemistry from the University of Southampton for studying the Belousov-Zhabotinsky reaction in a thesis titled “Uncovering features of chemical reaction networks in complex systems”. In 2017, I became a Teaching Fellow at the University of Leicester in Natural Sciences and Chemistry leading on a project for the gamification of mathematics teaching, as well as ongoing projects on the refinement of teaching laboratory safety to undergraduates.
In July 2018, I was appointed as a Lecturer in Chemistry at Staffordshire University and more lately as Course Director for Forensics; within this role I have taken up a cross-departmental role in reinvigorating assessment / feedback strategies. I am a member of the Royal Society of Chemistry’s Higher Education Group and passionately believe in the advancement of teaching innovation for the benefit of future generations of scientists in Chemistry and Forensic Science.
