Lecturer in Nursing with a background in Ageing and Mental Health and a dual qualified General (Adult) and Mental Health Nurse. Background in nursing and nursing education.
I started my nursing education and career at 18. I trained as an RGN and did my Registered General Nurse Training.
I went on to work in Older Adult Care and subsequently applied to complete my Mental Health Nursing Undergraduate Degree. I gained a 2:1 and my mental health nursing registration.
I was successful in getting a senior staff nurse post in Dementia Assessment and worked as a ward sister on continuing care. When an opportunity came up for a Lecturer Practitioner role within the NHS Trust / University of Sheffield I was successful in gaining the role. I was subsequently successful in getting a Lecturers post and worked in South Yorkshire for a number of years. I went on to study a Postgraduate Degree in Gerontology. After a few years I got a senior lecturers post at Staffordshire University. After a brief spell working at another University I returned to Staffordshire University in 2018. #ProudtobeStaffs always.
