Anthony is a digital artist, animator and VFX technical director with over 20 years of industry experience. His current area of interest is the creation of realistic environments using a combination of 3D and 2D techniques
I am a Senior Lecturer and Course Leader on the Concept Art for Games and Film undergraduate degree at Staffordshire University. Prior to joining Staffordshire University, I worked for over 20 years in the broadcast, commercials and games industries.
Ever since watching Star Wars, Alien and Blade Runner as a kid, I’ve always wanted to create immersive visual worlds. I would construct and video model kits to recreate space battles, before moving onto early digital art using the family’s Commodore Amiga home computer. A free copy of Imagine 3D on the front of Amiga Format magazine changed my life.
I would go on to first study Media Production, majoring in Computer Animation, at Bournemouth University and then completing an MA in Computer Animation there too. The BBC attended Bournemouth’s degree show, saw my student work, and offered me a job.
Since then I’ve worked on animated television, games and visual effects in numerous different capacities although I’ve always tended to be drawn towards lighting and general shot polish.
