Andrew Hanks

Senior Lecturer

Digital, Tech, Innovation & Business

I joined Staffordshire University in the summer of 2015 after spending four years at Keele University whilst I completed a PhD in Human Resource Management and Industrial Relations.

Before Entering academia as a career, I had spent sixteen years working for the Ministry of Defence in Shropshire. Initially this was as an electrician but then having got involved with the trade union I became an elected representative. This role gave me an insight into Employment Relations that is invaluable in my teaching.

I get huge enjoyment out of teaching and guiding learners through their university experiences. I am a digital champion within Staffordshire Business School and are always looking for new and innovative ways to improve the student experience.

I am very active on social media, particularly Twitter, on which I regularly engage with academics and practitioners.
