My background is in adult education within the work-based learning sector. I have trained and assessed numerous adults over the past 23 years, all of which are from various age groups, backgrounds, ethnicities and genders - each with varying ability.
My subject specialisms are Lean Business improvement techniques, supply chain and warehouse and storage, team leading and leadership skills, many types of manufacturing processes (including Food and drink manufacture), aerospace engineering, ceramic manufacturer, carpet and textile manufacture, metal work fabrication and many more.
I am now a Work Based Education Officer for the Institute of Policing within Staffordshire University and my role is to carry out tripartite reviews with both student officers, who are undertaking a Police Constable Degree Apprenticeship, and the police force they serve with. These reviews take place at set intervals throughout their three-year apprenticeship, to comply with government funding guidelines, and they monitor the students officer's progress over their learning journey. Offering pastoral care, as needed, in the form of support, advice and guidance is something that I really enjoy about my role.
