The 2024 TIGA Games Industry Awards showcase the extraordinary creativity, innovation, and talent within the sector.

Professor Chris Headleand, Head of Staffordshire Games Institute said: “We are incredibly humbled to receive this award, naming us the top education institution for games in the UK. It’s a real testament to the exceptional hard work and talent of our team, and the consistent commitment and drive of our students. The UK has an incredible heritage for video games development, with a strong education pipeline, so we couldn’t be prouder to be recognised in this way.”

In October, the University’s Games Institute also won the ‘Excellence in University/Industry Collaboration’ category at the TIGA Games Education Awards recognising the introduction of industry-led mock interviews to help prepare final year students for their future careers. This year, the University facilitated over 300 mock interviews, supported by 17 companies and 86 experienced developers from the likes of Codemasters, Rebellion and Sumo Digital.

Dr. Richard Wilson OBE, TIGA CEO, said: “Our Awards recognise excellence in studios of all sizes, super service providers and outstanding educational institutions. Your achievements set the stage for an exciting 2025 in the UK games sector.”
