Students invited to get ahead of results day

Staffordshire University is urging students who are awaiting their examination results to get ahead of results day.

Clearing Social Assets V2-1 for web

Students can call the hotline or visit the website for information, advice and guidance

“It’s really important that students who think they might need to use Clearing, for whatever reason, start to think about their plans for results day. Some students are already sitting on their results which means they can act now to turn possibility into reality.

Sean Johnson-Hargreaves, Head of Admissions

Clearing is now open at Staffordshire University and students with their results can call the hotline or use the offer generator which asks them to choose a course and input their qualifications to find out if they are eligible for a University place starting this September.

Students and their parents can also book a private campus tour at either Stoke or Stafford campuses or wait to attend the full Open Day at the University’s Stoke-on-Trent campus on Saturday 17th August.

Head of Admissions, Sean Johnson-Hargreaves said: “It’s really important that students who think they might need to use Clearing, for whatever reason, start to think about their plans for results day. Some students are already sitting on their results which means they can act now to turn possibility into reality.

“For many more, it can be an anxious wait until results day on 15th August  but we have lots of useful information on our website as well as friendly Clearing advisors – specially trained students - who are available to take calls, live chat and offer up the benefits of their University experience.”

On results day, Staffordshire University will have an increased presence in local colleges including City of Stoke-on-Trent Sixth Form, Stoke-on-Trent College and Newcastle and Stafford Colleges, where students will be collecting their results.

Sean added: “Clearing is no longer the option of last resort – it is an opportunity for students with and without offers of places to think about their next steps. By having our teams present in our fantastic local colleges we will be able to help more students navigate the clearing process and support them as they embark on an exciting new adventure”

Recent BSc (Hons) Forensic Science graduate Louis Stonehouse-Gusewski said he’d recommend the clearing process to anyone. Although Louis began studying at a different university, he used the Clearing process to change course – and his university! He graduated from Staffordshire University last month with a First-class degree.

He said: “It was a great opportunity to get my foot in the door. I’d recommend it to anybody.”
