Sports stars, TV personalities, artists, businesspeople, musicians and more – Staffordshire University’s global alumni and honorary doctor community includes inspirational people from all walks of life.

“From famous faces to hidden treasures, the Proud to be Staffs podcast features an interview with a different alumni, honorary doctor or stakeholder every two weeks,” explained host Jenny Amphlett.

“Expect to be uplifted, motivated and, if you’re Staffordshire University alumni, for the memories to come flooding back. Every single one of this eclectic group of individuals is Proud to be Staffs.”

Previously recorded on campus, the podcast is now being recorded in the recently refurbished Cross Rhythms studio in the city centre.

As well as being released on all good podcast platforms each interview will first be broadcast on air on Cross Rhythms City Radio (101.8FM & 96.6FM), starting in March.

The first episode of the new series features Port Vale FC’s newly appointed CEO Matt Hancock.

Previous podcast guests include the boxer Nathan Heaney, opera singer Denise Leigh, former world squash champion Angela Smith and ceramic designer Lorna Bailey.

Jonathan Bellamy, Cross Rhythms CEO, said: “We are thrilled to partner with Staffordshire University on this show and to be able to add such a well-respected podcast to our roster of quality community programmes. Staffs alumni are making a difference across the nation and the world and it is a privilege to be able to share their amazing stories to the city on Cross Rhythms.”
