We’re delighted to have performed so well in the subject tables and our top ten courses really go to reflect excellence in learning and teaching and student experience across the University’s diverse portfolio.

The new University Guide was published on Saturday and saw the University climb five places to joint 63rd overall.

However, the University also ranked considerably higher in some of the subject tables including 2nd place for Criminology, 3rd for Drama, 4th for Children’s Nursing and Product Design and 5th for Fashion.

The University also ranked 6th for Media, 8th for Forensic Science and Mental health nursing and 10th for Fine Art.

Vice-Chancellor and Chief Executive, Professor Martin Jones said: “We’re delighted to have performed so well in the subject tables and our top ten courses really go to reflect excellence in learning and teaching and student experience across the University’s diverse portfolio.

“Our aim is to provide students with a next generation education experience, and we have invested heavily in facilities so that our students get to grips with the latest technologies and develop the knowledge, skills and behaviours that help them excel in their chosen careers.”

Universities are ranked on a number of measures including what students say about their university in the National Students Survey, class sizes, spend per student, entry grades and whether their academic performance improves during their time at university. There is also data on how many students get graduate jobs within 15 months of graduating.

Professor Jones said: “Choosing the right course at the right university for you is one of the most important decisions you’ll ever make and while it’s now possible for prospective students to do most of their research online, we also encourage students and their families to get a real feel for a University and its courses by attending an Open Day.”

Staffordshire University is hosting an Open Day for undergraduate and postgraduate students at its main Stoke-on-Trent Campus on Saturday 7 October. There is also an undergraduate Open Day at Staffordshire University London on Saturday 14 October and at the Centre for Health Innovation, Stafford on Saturday 21 October.
