Staffordshire Business School is launching new future-facing degrees as part of ambitions to be the foremost digital University in the UK.
The launch of the new courses fits nicely with our new Catalyst building which will bring new cohorts into contact with the employers we work with in a really modern contemporary space, mirroring the business environment and digital facilities found in global companies.
Central to this is the development of four bespoke awards for launch in September 2021, which will be delivered in new ways with a view to developing students for careers of the future.
In designing the new courses, Staffordshire University has responded to student and employer feedback which values interdisciplinary graduates who are forward-thinking and solutions-focused.
The new modular learning method allows students to deep-dive into an exciting and industry-relevant set of modules and to immerse themselves fully in one aspect of their studies at a time.
Angela Lawrence, Associate Dean for Recruitment in Staffordshire Business School said: “This is progressive and exciting. It’s critical that our students are able to respond positively to global and societal challenges and for that reason the themes of digital, sustainability and entrepreneurship are central to all of our new awards.”
Andrew Proctor, Pro Vice-Chancellor (Digital) added: “The launch of the new courses fits nicely with our new Catalyst building which will bring new cohorts into contact with the employers we work with in a really modern contemporary space, mirroring the business environment and digital facilities found in global companies.”
The four-storey Catalyst building is currently taking shape on the University’s Leek Road site and, once complete, the £40m flagship will act as a hub for employers and a study site for students on Staffordshire Business School courses and those undertaking degree and higher level apprenticeships.
Employability skills are embedded in each of the new degrees and students will also acquire industry-recognised micro-credentials to help them excel in a digital world.
All four new undergraduate courses can be studied full or part time, all with placement opportunities, and two courses are available to study as accelerated degrees.
Prospective students can find out more by booking a place at our virtual Open Day on Saturday 5 December.
