Entry requirements

We accept a wide range of qualifications from all over the world. If you’re unsure, our friendly International Admissions Team will be happy to help.

Undergraduate

Undergraduate (bachelors) degrees

To apply for an undergraduate (bachelors) degree you need one of the following qualifications:

  • General Certificate of Education (GCE) Advanced Levels with grades BBC Ordinary National Diploma with a GPA of 3/5
  • International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma with 28 points overall
  • Successful completion of a relevant International Foundation Year from a recognised UK Institution
  • For A-Level requirements, please see the ‘entry requirements’ section on the relevant course page

Integrated masters and two-year accelerated degrees

To apply for an integrated masters or two-year accelerated degree you need one of the following qualifications:

  • General Certificate of Education (GCE) Advanced Levels with grades BBB Ordinary National Diploma with a GPA of 3.5/5
  • International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma with 30 points overall
  • Successful completion of a relevant International Foundation Year from a recognised UK Institution
  • For A-Level requirements, please see the ‘entry requirements’ section on the relevant course page

Postgraduate

Courses requiring a 2:1 degree

  • Bachelor degree in a relevant subject with a minimum overall grade of 3.25 (Second Class Upper)

Courses requiring a 2:2 degree

  • Bachelor degree in a relevant subject with a minimum grade of 2.5 (Second Class Lower)

English language requirements

To demonstrate your language proficiency as being equivalent to CEFR B2, we accept the following qualifications from your country:

  • WAEC or NECO (post 1998) English Language at grade A(1) - C(6). Validity - 10 years.
  • For postgraduate students we will also accept a Bachelor or Master degree certificate with evidence that the course was fully conducted in English. Validity - 8 years
  • If you are applying for Postgraduate studies, we may be able to accept a Medium of Instruction letter as evidence of your English Language proficiency. Please contact International Admissions for further information.

Please note that these qualifications are valid at University of Staffordshire for a period of 5 years since the test was taken, unless otherwise stated above.
