Facilities and expertise in Sciences

Undergraduate

Explore our £30m Science Centre, a hive of exploration, discovery and eureka moments.

Home to our psychology and bioscience students, the Science Centre contains specialist labs that delve into the areas of biology, biomedicine, psychology and more. Here you'll practice and refine your practitioner skills, preparing you for a career when you graduate.

In our psychology labs, you’ll have access to all the latest kit for immersive learning. Using equipment such as eye tracking, heart rate monitoring and temperature-induced pain stimuli, you’ll test what you’ve learnt using real-world scenarios.

And that’s not all. Our emphasis on simulation-based learning puts us at the forefront for psychology teaching. Through a combination of equipment and software, we can realistically recreate environments and conditions that would not be safe or possible to create in real life. By immersing you in a controlled environment we give you the chance to practice your skills and test hypotheses safely.

All of the lecturers are so supportive and really do want the best for you.

To this day, doing my undergraduate degree at Staffordshire University was the greatest three years of my life.

All of the lecturers are so supportive and really do want the best for you. It's not like other universities where you are just known by your student number, they want you to matter and they know a lot about every student, which made my experience extremely personal.

The degree was fantastic and it has led me to achieve great things. I just qualified as a teacher of Science at a secondary school but I hope one day I will find my way back to Staffordshire University as I feel inspired to become a lecturer after meeting such a wonderful team of people.
