The Sports Journalism course at Staffordshire University is probably one of the best in the country. It’s certainly one of the main reasons that I got a job at Wales Online as a Digital Sports Writer. The live Newsdays allow students to experience what it’s like to work in a place like this and, along with work placements, which is another reason I got a job here straight from graduation, are what separates it as a course and a university.

The tutors help you with your feedback and give you lots of positives and ways to improve and that help us feed into our next year or when we graduate into industry, so that really helps on boosting you up for what comes next.

The staff are literally amazing; they are the ones who make the course so great. The lecturers all have industry experience, which gives us an insight into how it would be once we graduate. The most important thing is that the University actually cares about their students which is very rare. If you are ever stuck or having any type of issue there will always be someone their give you the assistance needed.

Film, Television and Radio

I absolutely love the course that I studied at Staffs. The quality of the course stood out among the others. The lecturers have got great industry experience – a lot of them are still involved in the industry which is really important. The facilities are absolutely fantastic. You’ll benefit from the experience so much.

Jack Bradley

Sports Journalism

My course was fantastic course and really helped me grow, develop and magnify as not just a person, but an industry professional. I had superb lecturers who were all very supportive. There are some quality facilities which gave me a great head start into industry standard equipment and software, something I found very useful when first starting out on real productions.

Jade McKenna

There have been really good opportunities to record with bands and produce different types of music records, which was great for my personal and career development.
