Psychology Human Sciences Suite (PHSS)

The Psychology Human Sciences Suite (PHSS) hosts a suite of adjoining research laboratories dedicated to psychophysiological research on human participants.

The PHSS consists of: A Neuroscience Laboratory, focusing on Eletroenceplograph (EEG); a Pain Research Laboratory, used for pain perception and pain tolerance research; a Cardiovascular Laboratory, for ECG, HRV, EOG, BP, research (also used for emotional response recording e.g. GSR); A Central Control Room, with digital data communication to each of the aforementioned laboratories, allowing remote observation and communication; A Phlebotomy Cubicle, for finger prick blood sampling, e.g. Glucose absorption; a Kitchen Preparation Area for the preparation of food & drink items for consumption in research studies; Ambulatory monitoring devices for off-site physiological recording.

The PHSS also plays host to a full range of experimental based software for experimental design, build, acquisition and analysis.
