About our nursery

Our Ofsted rated 'Good' nursery has been part of the University’s Stoke-on-Trent campus since 1991.

We pride ourselves in offering childcare services for students, staff  and members of the public for children aged 0-5 years. Our team of qualified staff are here to support you and your family and help make your child's precious formative years the best they can be.

Based on the children’s interests and next steps, we encourage learning and development through a combination of wonder, curiosity and guided play. We aim to support children to grow and learn to the best of their abilities, while also supporting you as their families to study or work. We work closely with parents to provide the best care for your child, remembering that parents are the first educators.

Our setting

Our nursery consists of four rooms, each designed to promote play, learning and develop your child's independence. Toys and activites and are chosen to promote and excite. We foster a nurturing environment where children can explore and be curious at their own pace, independently solving the challenges of an enriched curriculum.

The baby unit

Our nursery includes two baby rooms, allowing us to deliver a variety of  age-appropriate activities. Babies are born learners, with a natural curiosity for how the world works. Children's individual rhythms and routines are discussed with parents regularly to ensure the best care for your child. Home link diaries are used for our under ones to help to support this exchange of information.

2-3s' room

We understand the changes and challenges that often occur at this age. Our room and its routine give children the time and space to safely take risks and challenge themselves as they develop. Our staff are experts on the many areas of learning and development, including toilet training and emotion coaching, which allows them to support the emotional responses of the children. Through social interactions and small group activities, we will help your children to develop and grow.

Preschool

As throughout all the other rooms in our nursery we support our children to learn through exploration and play. By using the children’s interests and next steps, ascertained through observation and discussions with families, we introduce phonics and numeracy throughout our daily routine and activities, as well as extending thinking and communication through adult- led group times. We love to celebrate our children’s uniqueness and diversity by finding out more about each other’s celebrations and home life so that we can learn new things together and help your child to become school-ready.

Our sessions

We offer a variety of different childcare booking options depending on your needs. Our sessions are available in full day, half-day, full week and short term bookings. Full full details and pricing, see our fees and funding information.
