Martin Fiddler

Senior Lecturer

Digital, Tech, Innovation & Business

Before working at the university, I worked at Lucas Aerospace in Wolverhampton as a graduate apprentice, then as an aircraft design engineer. I have been a Senior Lecturer at Staffordshire University since then, and have developed and led the Aeronautical Degrees here.

I used to fly light aircraft and have flown solo, and have also flown gliders. I have a range of licenses on the Boeing 737 allowing me to fly and instruct on a commercial Boeing 737 simulator.

My research interests are related to human factors, pilot error, flight deck operation, automation and design, and aircraft flight testing and design.

I enjoy travel and have been to over 100 countries.
