Website resources

Mind
Provides information on a variety of mental wellbeing issues such as depression, anxiety, panic attacks, stress, self-harm, etc.  You can read information as well as listening to podcasts. Mind also has information on tools, tips and videos for student mental health within their dedicated Student Mental Health Hub which provides information, access to tools, tips, videos, blogs, and specialised support for BAME, disabled and LGBTIQ+ students.

Every Mind Matters 

Provides information and self-help on a range of topics such mental health, life challenges and wellbeing tips. 

Cruse
Provides information and support about dealing with bereavement and grief, particularly during the Coronavirus outbreak.

Drink Aware
Provides information about alcohol as well as guidance on being safe in relation to alcohol.

HelpGuide.org
An international non-profit organisation which provides on-line self-help and information for mental, emotional and social wellness.

Living life to the full
Allows you to work through information about 'life skills' online with the intention of improving your mental wellbeing.

NHS Choices
Provides information on a variety of mental wellbeing issues such as depression, anxiety, panic attacks, stress, self-harm, etc. You can do a quiz about your mood, read information about an issue, listen to podcasts and find out about other peoples' experiences.

Northumberland, Tyne and Wear NHS Foundation Trust
Self Help Guides produced by Northumberland, Tyne and Wear NHS Foundation Trust.  Titles cover a range of mental health issues.

NHS - every mind matters
Further information and tips to help with anxiety, sleep, low mood, etc., some of which relates to helping you manage during the coronavirus outbreak.

Provides information about depression.  You can read student blogs and also use a workbook to try and help yourself.

Mental Health Foundation
Provides information on a variety of mental wellbeing issues such as depression, anxiety, panic attacks, stress, self-harm, etc. You can listen to various podcasts to help you relax and better manage stress and anxiety. There is also a guide on how to talk to your GP if you are not sure what to say. There is also support to help cope with different aspects of the Coronavirus outbreak.

Mental wellbeing apps

You can download apps to use on mobile devices.  As you may be aware, some apps are free to download and some are not.  On some apps that are free to download, there may be charges to access some content, so please be aware of this.
